The Peak District: Route Guide
Last updated:

Britain's first national park packs cavern-riddled hills, gritstone edges and stately Chatsworth into a loop you can drive in a day but should walk for three. Mam Tor's ridge and Stanage Edge are minutes from tearooms; Buxton adds Georgian spa polish. It is the Sunday escape for half of northern England, and midweek you get it to yourself.
The Peak District is a 130 km loop (self-drive). It works best as 2–4 days; the plan below is the 3-day version for June, built from 335 verified places, with real road-routed transit times, opening hours and daylight checked.

Dry gritstone for walkers and climbers, show caverns at a pleasant chill, and the well-dressing festivals fill village greens through early summer.
