Short answers about where the data comes from, how the days are checked, and what the planner will refuse to do.
Are these places real, or AI-generated?
Real. Every stop comes from a curated listing with a source we name — predominantly Wikivoyage under CC BY-SA 4.0, used for facts only: name, address, opening hours. The descriptions are written from those facts. The planner physically cannot add a place that is not in the catalogue, because the language model only ever writes prose about stops the deterministic engine has already chosen.
How do you know a day is actually doable?
Each day is simulated against a clock. Driving legs use real road-routed durations with a ten percent buffer added, because nobody drives free-flow on holiday. Rail and ferry legs are timetable-style estimates and we label them as such. Visit lengths, opening hours and the month's daylight all come off the same clock, and a day that will not fit is not offered.
Why is my trip shorter than the number of days I asked for?
Because we would rather hand you a shorter honest plan than pad one. If a route's curated stops cannot fill the days you asked for, the planner builds the days it can genuinely fill, shows you that number, and says why. An itinerary with a blank day in the middle is worse than a shorter itinerary.
Can I change a plan after it is built?
Yes — the tweak box takes plain language. You can drop a stop or a whole category, change the length, month or pace, or ask for more of something. Each tweak shows exactly which stops went out and which came in, so you are never guessing whether it did anything. Refusals stick: something you drop will not quietly reappear on the next tweak.
What does it cost?
Planning is free and we add no markup. Some outbound links to stays, tours and car hire may earn a commission, which never changes what the planner recommends — those picks are computed from your preferences and cannot be bought. You book everything direct with the operator.
Where does the weather come from?
Month-by-month figures are NASA POWER climate normals, so they describe a typical year rather than a forecast. When your trip starts within two weeks we overlay a live forecast from MET Norway and label it as live.
Do I need an account?
No. Building, viewing and sharing a plan works without one, and so does a handful of tweaks. Signing in exists so you can save trips and come back to them, and it raises the tweak allowance.
What languages does it work in?
Seven: English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Simplified Chinese and Korean. Place names stay in their original form, because that is what is written on the sign when you get there.
