Salzburg's fortress and old town, Hallstatt's village and museum, and Zell am See's lakeside streets lead into the Alps. Arrange a car and driver for this seven-day summer journey, crossing the Grossglockner High Alpine Road only when it is open and correctly ticketed, then continuing through Heiligenblut to Lienz. Salt mines, caves, cable cars, boats and mountain hikes are separate choices.
