This part of the plan assumes the Grossglockner High Alpine Road is open for your travel date and vehicle. Check the operator’s road report, opening and last-entry times, ticket category and any equipment restrictions before departure. Night driving is prohibited. If the road is closed, change this stage before travelling; the plan does not automatically recalculate an open alternative.

Visitor cars cannot enter the historic centre. Agree on a legal drop-off and parking plan with your driver, follow the live parking signs and allow time to walk into the village. Day spaces in P1 and P2 cannot be reserved. If you instead travel with a coach group, its operator must arrange the separate coach access slot.

Check the current calendars, last entry and tickets for Hohensalzburg Fortress and Museum Hallstatt. Choose the fortress ticket that matches how you will reach it; the plan does not include a funicular ticket. Museum Hallstatt says it is not barrier-free.
