- The long drier season usually reduces mud on forest paths, but permits, guides, roads, weather and wildlife remain date-specific and no sighting is guaranteed.
- Light days: day 1, day 5 have one stop and time left over. Local tours and day trips are the way to fill them — each day links to what is bookable in its own town.

- Confirm the loop car, inland roads and every overnight.
Confirm an insured roadworthy car, Kigali pickup and return, driver eligibility, fuel, parking, each overnight and the current RTDA state of the inland Musanze–Karongi and Karongi–Nyungwe corridors. Allow extra margin for rain, works and historically unpaved sections; the planner supplies no vehicle.
