Circle from Kigali through the Virunga foothills, inland to Karongi and onward to Nyungwe, returning through Huye. The defining gorilla and forest days use booked park permits and guides; the road car stays parked during them, and the plan never promises a sighting or enters the Rubavu–Gisenyi border corridor.
