Start with a light day in Dalanzadgad: visit the museum and leave time to settle in and meet your driver before four days on the desert circuit. Travel to Dalanzadgad is outside this plan. Walk the cool gorge at Yolyn Am, spend time among Khongor’s towering sand dunes and follow the marked paths through Bayanzag’s red cliffs. A night near Bayanzag breaks up the return journey, with Khavtsgait’s hillside rock art on the way back to Dalanzadgad.
