Follow the complete Chemin des Gabats walking circuit from its published street starting point in Saint-Lizier and return to that same point. The ARVV guide linked by official tourism gives 5.9 km, about two and a half hours, a very easy walking grade and 180 m of ascent. Follow the countryside paths through gates past views of the town, the Salat valley and the Pyrenees, including the Marsan chapel viewpoint. Close gates, keep dogs on leads, avoid livestock and guardian dogs, and check weather and signs. This is a distinct variant of the tourist-office route. Palace and cathedral interiors, parking search, queues and vehicle transport are separate.
