Charleston, Beaufort and Savannah are coastal evacuation areas. Follow current official zones and orders, leave before operations stop, and move the trip rather than attempting a sightseeing itinerary during a coastal evacuation or tropical-weather closure.

Check SCDOT 511 and Georgia 511 before every transfer for incidents, flooding, construction, bridge restrictions, evacuation traffic and closures.

Fort Pulaski can close for tropical conditions and normally has fixed operating hours. Jekyll requires a vehicle parking fee and can restrict re-entry after an emergency. Fort Sumter is reachable only by the authorised ferry, so Charleston’s public baseline uses Liberty Square and the peninsula rather than assuming a sailing.
