Give Visby's island museum and walled streets two days, then cross by vehicle ferry to Fårö's village heritage and coastal rock formations. Return to Gotland's east coast at Ljugarn and Folhammar to complete five summer days. Arrange a car and driver, allow for ferry queues and check museum opening; your mainland arrival, swimming and organised activities are separate choices.

When to go

Best months: June, July, August
