Drive from Barra to Lewis with the same vehicle: cross to Eriskay, follow the causeways through the Uists, cross the Sound of Harris from Berneray to Leverburgh and continue north through Harris. Explore Vatersay, Uist heritage, Luskentyre and the Calanais stones along the way; offshore islands and long hikes remain optional excursions.
