Leave Cluj-Napoca for Baia Mare and the wooden-village landscapes of Maramureș, then cross Prislop to Vatra Dornei and Bucovina's painted-monastery surroundings. The five-day drive finishes around Gura Humorului and Voroneț. Check that the mountain road is open and suitable; monastery interiors, steam trains, longer hikes and guided visits are separate choices.
