Drive from Outjo through Khorixas to Twyfelfontein for four unhurried days of local history, petrified wood, UNESCO-listed rock art, volcanic formations and community-led Damara interpretation. When to go

Best months: June, July, August, September, October

The drier months usually make this heritage corridor easier to plan, but gravel corrugation, dust, heat and local road work still require a same-day check. Keep every transfer in daylight and allow more time than a paved-road estimate.
