One of the world's largest monoliths guards the road to five jungle-baroque missions: Bernal's great stone peña, climbable to its shoulder, then the Sierra Gorda's switchbacks through four climate zones to Jalpan, where Junípero Serra's Franciscans rehearsed the façades they would later take to California. Macaws included at no extra charge.
